MONARCHY (Alfonso XIII 1886-1931):
 a form of government with a monarch at the head.



REPUBLIC (Alcalá Zamora 1931-1936 and Manuel Azaña 1936-1939):
 a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elective representatives.


CIVIL WAR (1936-1939):
 a war between citizens of the same country.
